ALCS game 6 was postponed so, Did anything else happen? The New York Islanders had a 2-0 and of course blew it to the visiting Washington Capitals who would tie it in regulation and yes beat the Isles early into OT, final score 3-2. The New York Rangers were entertained by the Montreal Canadians. The blue shirts would have two 3 goal lead’s, they would also blow their leads in regulation. The Rangers would be defeated by the Hab’s also early into overtime by a tally from Michael Cammalleri, his third of the contest. The final would be 5-4. The Pittsburgh Penguins would play host to the New Jersey Devils. Unlike the other two NY Metro teams the Dev’s would prove victorious pretty handily by a score of 4-1. Martin Brodeur was named the number 1 star in that game as well. (All 30 NHL teams were in action)
Some College highlights from the day. #2 Alabama blocks a FG late to narrowly upend Tennessee. #7 USC squeaks by Oregon state. #3 Texas and #5 Cinccy both dominate in win’s of at least 30. Unranked Clemson took care of # 10 Miami in overtime 40-37 in a thrilling ending. #6 Iowa Stays perfect improving to 8-0 as they went on the road and took care of Michigan State on a last second Touchdown to beat the Spartans.
