J E T S JETS JETS JETS

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rex and The Sanchise are headed to the playoffs, lucky breaks and all.
Same Old J-E-T-S? Nope, not this time.

 _______________________________________________________________________

• The Jets clinched the final playoff spot in the AFC by throttling the Bengals for their second shutout of the season.
• After losing six of seven games, the Jets finished the season by winning five of their last six to reach the postseason for the first time since 2006.
• The Jets will be the No. 5 seed in the AFC, traveling to Cincinnati to play the Bengals on Saturday.
• The Bengals, who had five first downs in the game, head into the postseason having lost three of their last four games and are shut out for the first time since 2001.
• The Jets rushed for 258 yards and had three different players with at least 60 rushing yards, led by Brad Smith's career-high 92 yards and his first rushing TD of the season.

Ryan led his players back onto the field after a few minutes in the locker room, celebrating with a victory lap and high-fiving the few thousand remaining fans."It was great," cornerback Darrelle Revis said. "We had to give back to the fans. They stuck with us."The win -- marked by Ryan getting a Gatorade shower on the sideline -- was likely the last game at Giants Stadium and capped a series of favorable twists and turns for the Jets.New York appeared to be on the outside of the playoff hunt two weeks ago when it lost to Atlanta, and Ryan even mistakenly said his team's playoff chances were over.Instead, the Jets defeated previously undefeated Indianapolis last Sunday when Peyton Manning and other Colts stars went to the bench in the second half. Several other teams in playoff contention lost, setting up the Jets' win-and-in game against the Bengals."I don't believe we backed into anything," Ryan said, "so we're going to try to prove it."Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco said his team would be ready."We'll be fine," he said. "We'll study a lot of things we can fix, especially offensively. Next week will be a lot more serious."Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards boldly told the fans earlier in the week that New York wouldn't lose, and his teammates backed him up big-time.

For those who think the Jets Backed in. Tough Shit.  Pitt .... GO out and beat the raiders, chiefs and browns some of the worst teams in the NFL... all whom you lost to.... Houston.... next time beat the Jets, and then your in. But you teams didn't do what you were supposed to....so therefore you got NO BEEF.

The Jets Got a Gift, but Jets and their fans will not and should not be apologetic.

Why I think the Jets can win. Specifically 5 Players in Mind, but i will just refer to them as the "Offensive Line". 2 Pro-bowlers and could of made and argument for the other 3. They have the best O-Line in football. BETTER THEN DALLAS. BUT also, include Revis, T-Jones and the other members of the that Stout Defense and their will be a helluva game this Saturday afternoon.

Sportsman of the Decade.

Roger Goodell
Commissioner- National Football League

Cleaning the League up, one thug at a time
http://pictures.thaindian.com/d/3215-2/Gene-Upshaw-Roger-Goodell-80034235.jpg          The NFL in 2006 was in sambles. Players seemed to be apart of the National Felons League rather then the National Football League. Players were getting arrested, and not just on minor charges. Gun chargers, rape, spousal abuse and most notibly dog fighting. Under the former commissioner Paul Taglibue, players were punished but it was a basic slap on the wrist. It seems as if the owners didnt want to "tame" their player but they wouldnt mind if they were. It also seemed that although the NFL was the most popular sport in the USA, it didnt have clear cut role models for the youth because of all the problems cases that would stain the rep of the league. Taglibue would retire and in would step Roger Goodell. The New York native wanted to lay the law down. The NFL will have respect and will have its role models once again. Zero Tolerance on criminals and other punishable offenses. Goodell would consult then  NFLPA director Gene Upshaw and also created a six-man player advisory committee to discuss conduct, discipline and other topics. There were many players on the list to feel the teeth of the new policy the first beiing the Titans CB Adam "Pacman" Jones and Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry both of whose careers were tainted by numerous arrests. The 3rd player suspended was Bear DT Tank Johnson. In August of 2007 the Falcons starting QB Michael Vick would plead guilty in his involvement in illegal dog fighting and euthanization, and was suspended "indefinitely" without pay. He also have delt with things such as the "vikings boat scandal" and "spygate"

Goodell has been very vocal on rookie salaries, the leagues charitable work, performance enhancing steroids, head and neck injuries suffered on the field and the NFLs effort towards the wars in Iraq and Afganistan.

"It is important that the NFL be represented consistently by outstanding people as well as great football players, coaches, and staff. We hold ourselves to higher standards of responsible conduct because of what it means to be part of the National Football League. We have long had policies and programs designed to encourage responsible behavior, and this policy is a further step in ensuring that everyone who is part of the NFL meets that standard. We will continue to review the policy and modify it as warranted." ~Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the National Football League
