ISLANDERS
Last night the Islanders hosted the rival Rangers at the Nassau Coliseum. I know the Islanders are tied for the lowest win total in the NHL thus far into the season with 1. They are 1-4-5. That 5 stands for over time losses or as it used to be called "regulation ties". If you think of it, if they win 3 of those games they are 4-4-2. A completely different record and a completely different feel. I'm not making excuses for them, far from it but what I am saying is that the Isles may not be as bad as their previously stated record shows. Only a few different bounces here and there separates a door mat to a mid level team. One of the younger teams in the NHL played their hearts out. The Isles upended the Blue shirts yesterday 3-1. Isles would get goals from young stars Matt Moulson, Kyle Okposo and of course John Taveres. The Rangers loan Goal game from Marion Gaborik replacement PA Parenteau. The number one star of the game was Isles goalie Dwayne Roloson who stood on his head all game long saving 34 shots. Although the Shirts were missing Gaborik, they still have enough power to over come the Isles who won their second game, the Rangers are faltering lately after storming out of the gate. Next the Islanders visit the nations capital for a halloween eve battle vs the Washington Capitals.

KNICKS
KNICKS
Talk about getting blown out to start the season. The Knicks looked god awful in their loss to Heat last night, 115-93. I mean putrid. Could the season be over just one game in? Nate Robinson looked horrendous, Gallinari looked good when the game was out of reach. Yet again David Lee and Al Harrington shouldering the load just like last year. Well going back to my earlier question, I think not, in the preview I think the Knicks will be hanging around most of the season and I feel the same then yesterday and now. I think they'll win minimum of 34 games this year and be in contention for the final Eastern playoff spot... Hey it could be worse, we could 0-2 like Cleveland. Besides Lee, Harrington and Gallinari, Darko Milicic (right) played well coming off the bench for 4 pts and 7 boards. Don't jump off the Knicks yet. Its only one game in! If that was the case then we all would of deserted the Yankees early on. The Knicks visit the Bobcats on friday who were Demoralized by the Celtics last night as they were held to 59 pts.
