October 26th 2000

Yankees defeat the Met 4-2 to win the 2000 World Series
4 games to 1
Mike Stanton would get the win, Al Leiter would get the Loss with Mariano Rivera getting the Save.
Leiter pitched the game of his life going into the 9th inning throwing over 140 pitches and striking out 9.
The big hit came in the top of the 9th when Luis Sojo came up clutch again as he drove a Leiter pitch up the middle for an RBI single which would score two due to an error. Derek Jeter would win the Series MVP.

Jeter wins his 3rd straight World Series title and the 4th of 5.
