Billy Wags... To hang it up???

Sources have said that instead of trying to come back for another season to reach the 400 save milestone that Relief Pitcher Billy Wagner may indeed retire. Wagner came back after a tough Tommy John Surgery for the late season push. He was traded from the Mets to the Boston Redsox where he posted a 1.98 ERA with 22 K's in 13.2 innings. Not bad for a guy who a year ago couldnt move of feel his left arm. I like Billy Wagner and I feel he should give it another go around. The 38 year old wanted to come back for that save milestone but lately has been thinking otherwise by puting his family first. Met fans will tell you that Billy Wagner was horrible...he was unable to save the "big game" but he was a 2 time Allstar as a Met in 2007 and 2008. Wagner's Career numbers; 833.2 innings, 1092 K's , 385 Saves with a 2.39 ERA. Wagner has played 4 teams most notably Houston as well as Philadelphia, NYM and Boston. He has reached the postseason 5 times including 2009. He will forever be known in Mets Lore for his 2006 NLCS performance. In 6 games his ERA was 9.53 with 3 saves but all Met fans will tell you it was the Home Run he gave up to So Taguchi in the 9th inning of game 2 is the one that stings the most.

So Taguchi's Homerun in Game 2 of the
2006 NLCS
