As Prices go up 25 cents. Service goes down 25%

Okay let me cut to the chase. I got out of class around 6pm today. I arrived at the subway at 6:07, and it departed at 6:09 out of Brooklyn College toward the Bronx. My ride doesn't take me to the Boogey down but to a much closer stop, Atlantic Avenue. ATL AVE is where i get the LIRR everyday to head home from school. I was trying to catch a 6:27 train, the subway ride is usually 16-18 minutes. This was going to be close. When I arrived at Atl. Avenue it was 6:27 on the dot. I exited the train and started in a full out sprint toward the terminal. I ran to track one just to be 15 feet away LITERALLY as the doors closed.
I get it, I wasn't their on time therefore the train left on time. Besides the fact that trains are running considerably lower then in previous years. My beef is this... does the MTA not realize that people use the subway to get to the LIRR. Im not saying wait for every train, but in my situtation would it hurt to hold the train for a few moments while I and other straphangers make the Usain Bolt esk run. With this maybe there should be a system that tells the train that a subway is comming in LETS WAIT ANOTHER 35 SECONDS OR SO. It just irks me that if my subway would of been 16 seconds earlier i would of been on the train. Why do they do shit like this... time the trains atleast of do what i said, hold it for a few moments. How could that possibly hurt.
