Matsui

We all remember sports center, in 2002 they were talking about the future of Japanese baseball players. Two mentioned Hideki and Kaz Matsui (not related). Hideki always stated how if he were to come to the USA he would want to play for the New York Yankees. He wanted to prove to the USA what he can do and be apart of a World Series Championship. They came to an agreement and he signed. The Hype of the one they called Godzilla. Well Zilla has been nothing short of tremendous for the Bombers. The two time MLB allstar has been with the team since 2003 and a staple in the heart of the order since he. arrived. We all remember that Grand Slam he hit on opening day in the rain versus the Twins right. Or what about that HUGE RBI double in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS vs the Redsox. Since 2003 he has played in 916 games hit 140 home runs with 597 RBIs while batting .292. This past year he batted . 274 with 28 HR and 90 RBI. But this might be his last season with the Boys in the Bronx who seem to have a stock pile of OFs and don't want the 25 year old Japanese slugger. Or do they? Im sure they would take him back if he accepts a 1 year deal. How could they not? All i know is im a Matsui supporter, has have and always will they should resign him. The man just won the World Series MVP, on that WS championship team he so eagerly wanted to be on.  In the WS he batted a whopping .615 with 3 HR and 8 RBI.
