Lidge

When Brad Lidge took the field Sunday night in a tie game during game 4 of the World Series, did any Yankee fan/Phillies hater have any doubt? The man blew 11 saves during the season and lost 8 games in that time. Okay his post season has been good but vs. less then mediocre talent Brian Bruney could dominate. I mean hes been very marginal even against the Rockies nothing was lights out. So he comes in and flushes out the first two batters, then the bombers came alive. The play of the inning was with out a doubt the Johnny Damon double steal. Then in very un-Mariano Rivera like fashion he hits Mark Teixiera. At that point did anyone have any doubt that A-Rod would come up clutch. I knew he would he had too after the post season he was having. All the A-Rod haters were already to rip his a new one but had to eat their words for atleast the night and maybe till next April. Not too mention Lidge didn't help himself with the next batter by giving up a 2 run double to Jorge Posada. Lidge after the first 2 batters went 1/3 inning 3 hits 3 R 3 ER 1 HBP after easily having his way with Hideki Matsui and Derek Jeter. Matsui was hitting for Joba Chamberlian who would wind up with the win after blowing away the Phillies in former Joba fashion only surrendering one bad pitch..... which was belted out of the park. Rivera came in and of course did the job. Honestly Met fans/ Phillies haters dont be embarassed to root for the Yankees to beat the Phils. I am a die hard Jets fan (sigh) and I rooted my ass harder then any one for the Giants to beat the Pats in the Superbowl 2 years ago I even went to the parade. Their is no shame remember that. If it were the Mets vs the Red sox, you damn betcha i'd root for the Metropolitans.
