Cliff Lee or Roy Halladay?

At the trade deadline came and passed. The Phillies were interested in Toronto Pitcher Roy Halladay. Toronto GM JP Richardi thought the Phillies only wanted Halladay who is one of the most dominating pitchers in the game. Well the deal fell through partly cause of the asking price was way too high and also because Philadelphia had a Back up plan, 2008 AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee. Lee was traded like his former teammate and 2007 Cy Young winner CC Sabathia for practically nothing and joined the NL east for the stretch run starting 12 games and going 7-4 with a 3.39 ERA. Halladay sputtered a little down the stretch but still finished strong. But Lee was brought in for one reason, The Post Season. Lee in the postseason is 2-0 in 3 starts with an ERA of .74.... .74! He's given up 14 hits in 24.1 innings which also includes 20 strikeouts and 3 walks. Ladies and Gentleman... that is absurd. Those numbers should be illegal, they should not be allowed... unless of course they are coming from the boys in the Bronx. Lee without a doubt was the best mid season deal this year. The Phillies were a favorite to leave the NL with the pennant, but now with Lee firing on all cylinders they defiantly can look a step further towards a repeat of last years World Series Victory.
