Islanders/ Knicks/ Nets

The Islanders tonight lost a heartbreaker in Overtime, What else is new. This time they lost in 11 rounds. 11!! thats insane. This puts their record to 6-6-6, oh no! That is good enough for 18 pts and lands them tied for 8th in the Eastern Conference as of 10:15pm Wednesday Night. The Islanders have shown lots of grit, heart and determination lately they are 5-2-1 in their past 8 games. They visit Carolina this friday... THE 13th!

HAWKS 114- KNICKS 101

Al Horford scored a season-high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Josh Smith added 22 points and 12 boards, and the Atlanta Hawks sent the New York Knicks to their fifth straight loss with a 114-101 victory Wednesday night.  Toney Douglas scored a season-high 23 points in his first start for the Knicks (1-8), off to their worst start since also dropping eight of nine to open the 2002-03 season. Al Harrington also had 23, but drew loud groans from the crowd after botching a wide-open layup with a little more than 4 minutes left. The Knicks extended the lead to 14 -- their largest of the season -- with 2 1/2 minutes to go after the second of Harrington's consecutive baskets, before Atlanta scored the final six to cut it to 54-47 at the break. The Knicks fall to 0-8 and will play Golden State Friday.

Game notes
The Knicks host Golden State on Friday to finish a stretch of three straight and seven of eight games at home. ... New York was still without reserve guard Nate Robinson (sprained right ankle), who could return Friday. ... The Knicks had trailed by 20 or more in six of their first eight games.

 PHILLY 82- NJ 79
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Marreese Speights converted a go-ahead three-point play with 1:10 to play and the Philadelphia 76ers beat New Jersey 82-79 on Wednesday night, extending the Nets' franchise worst start to 0-8. Thaddeus Young had 20 points to lead the 76ers, and Speights finished with 19 points and nine rebounds as Philadelphia snapped a two-game losing streak. Brook Lopez had 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Nets who Fall to 0-8.
